Viking Tech was established in October 1997 at Hsin-Chu Science-Based Industrial Park, Taiwan, as the leader in the design, manufacture and marketing of Thin- Film /Thick-Film integrated passive devices and discrete resistors and inductors.

The market continues to demand further miniaturization of passive components.  Existing surface mount technology is not able to completely meet market requirements.  Viking Tech has an experienced R&D team that is focused on using thin film technologies for RF components and module development.  In order to meet the demands for higher frequencies and continued miniaturization, Viking combines the technical advantages of thin film processes and low cost of thick film processes to develop unique Precision Resistors, Current Sensing Resistors and RF inductors.  Viking has quickly become one of leading manufacturers of ultra-precision resistors, manufacturing tolerances down to 0.01% tolerance and TCR’s down to 5 ppm. With leading edge technology and competitive costs, the demand for Viking products has grown rapidly.  With an aggressive capital investment plan to increase capacity, Viking continues to offer the shortest lead-times in the market. We have an aggressive global expansion plan, utilizing reps and distributors in many major electronics’ markets…and in 2005; we introduced Viking Tech North America to service the North American market. In 2009/01/01 we have our strategic partner, TMTEC, merged into us. Thus taking advantage of their thick film production base and network, we provide full range of Thin / Thick Film related products for total solution service in greater China and even more worldwide countries.

Foundry Service:

With process capabilities including sputtering, electro and electroless plating, PECVD processes, photolithography and etching, Viking offers several manufacturing services using ceramic substrates, silicon chips or glass substrates.

Viking has the capacity to support low mix-high volume and the flexibility to support high mix-low volume projects. Integrated Passive Devices:

By combining many years of passive design experience with advanced simulation software, Viking uses semi-conductive thin film techniques to produce integrated passive components on a single silicon chip or ceramic substrate. A single device can incorporate several similar components, such as a resistor network or capacitor network, or different types of components, such as an R/C, R/C/D or R/C/L network.

Such integrated devices can decrease the parasitic effect between components, keeping the signal strong and stable during high speed signal transmission, thereby improving the system performance. IPD’s can also be used for ESD protection and EMI suppression for portable electronic devices.

Viking is ready and able to collaborate with its customers to jointly develop custom IPD’s that can be incorporated into new products in the shortest possible time. Developing the most suitable product in the shortest possible time is one of the main values that Viking provides.
